In this article SAP SuccessFactors’ President, Mike Ettling, talks about organizations’ role in engaging employees and what engaging organizations look like from within.

He says when viewing organizations that “The data matters, but so does sentiment”. He says “Walk into most businesses, and you can tell within minutes whether the workers are involved and committed…. or simply marking time for as long as it takes to bring home a paycheck.” He simply states interaction in the workplace is key and contagious.  Nevertheless according to Ettling “….as valuable as in-person connections are in the workplace, all-in employees also desire and expect flexibility.”

He further states “State-of-the-art technology offers the best tools for people to stay connected and collaborate across the globe, in real-time; this includes enterprise networks that are similar to Facebook, LinkedIn, WeChat or any of the other dozens of communities we interact in every day outside of work.”
