In this article from “Thinking Forward” by MIT Sloan, the author makes the case for innovative technologies that will disrupt the supply chain vertical in the years to come. Faced with odds from the spread of globalization, increased customer demands, and increased product complexity the author states companies are taking up advanced technologies to transform their supply chain from a pure operations hub into the epicenter of business innovation. And while the learning curve may be steep to adopting these new capabilities and the emerging technologies may have all the “new” bells and whistles, the success of such initiatives will all come down to the enablement of the core business processes that will sustain the market leaders of the future.
