Being in the ERP market for the last 9 years I have seen tremendous growth as well as unexpected turns. With that being said, SAP has weathered the attacks from competitors and today is considered the “safe” choice for CXO’s due to their numerous options in the business applications space.

Regardless of their dominance the CRM software market is diversified but is consolidating at a fast pace.

Nevertheless with the emerging disruptive technologies emerging such as the much anticipated SAP HANA platform for advanced reporting capabilities, SAP is ready to re-take their crown as the market leader once again.

This is not to say SAP will have the same market positioning as they did in the ERP market over the last 20 years but they have to feel very confident with the anticipation by customers and partners that if anyone will dominate they will be first in line.
